Philippine Navy SENDS GREGORIO DEL PILAR FOR NAVAL EXERCISE IN INDONESIA
Subic, Olongapo City – Philippine Navy contingents departed here Saturday for the first Multilateral Naval Exercise that will be hosted by Indonesian Navy from March 28 to April 3 2014 and will be participated by 16 countries.
BRP Gregorio Del Pilar (PF 15) with 46 officers and 114 enlisted personnel will be participating in the said exercise with the theme “Cooperation for Stability” which aims to enhance regional and international capabilities in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations among ASEAN and ASEAN plus Navies.
The primary objective of the exercise is to come up with a common HADR protocol that can be used by ASEAN countries. It will involve harbor phase, sea phase and civil military operations phase at Indonesia’s Area of Operations.
On its return trip, Gregorio Del Pilar will have a port visit to Brunei Darussalam to promote naval diplomacy, camaraderie and foster goodwill with the Royal Brunei Navy. – https://www.defensenewsdailyph.com and http://www.dndnews.com
