BRP Sierra Madre security arrives Puerto Princesa


NS Carlito Cunanan, Puerto Princesa City Mar. 31, 2014 – After more than five months of security duty at Ayungin Shoal in the West Philippine Sea, Navy personnel aboard BRP Sierra Madre (LT57) finally arrived and were awarded here today during the morning colors at Headquarters Naval Forces West.

The security personnel, majority from Philippine Marines, were recognized for their professionalism by no less than Lt. Gen. Roy O. Devetura AFP, Commander of Western Command and Commo. Manuel Natalio A. Abinuman AFP, Commander, Naval Forces West. 

The ceremony was attended by their dependents and was covered by media personnel who also took part in the re-provision and troop rotation mission in WPS.
