FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army in coordination with the AFP Officers Ladies Club Philippine Army Chapter launched the Department of Education’s Abot Alam Program held at Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand on August 7.   

Army chief Lt Gen Hernando DCA Iriberri together with Army Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and civilian employees were present during the launching with Hon. Armin A Luistro, Secretary of Department of Education as the guest of honor and speaker.  

The Abot Alam Program of the DepEd is a nationwide convergence program of various national government agencies and non-government organizations and institutions, with the vision of helping our out of school youth through opportunities for education, employment and entrepreneurship. 

The AFP Officers’ Ladies Club Philippine Army Chapter signified its intention to support the program through information dissemination, conduct of the literacy/academics as part of the Alternative Learning System and for the sustainability of the program. 

The Philippine Army likewise expressed its commitment to help and support the DepEd in achieving the zero out of school youth goal of the government.
