Persuader Brigade celebrates 28 years of service in Central Mindanao

H6ID, Camp Siongco Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao May 03, 2015- The 603rd Persuader Brigade, 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army celebrates its 28th year of existence with the Commander, 6th Infantry Division, Major General Edmundo R. Pangilinan.

The activity started with a blessing of the newly renovated administrative building of the unit which is expected to be operational the day after the anniversary. A short and simple program subsequently followed which highlighted the awarding of deserving officers and personnel of the brigade for their individual efforts to help the unit accomplish its mission. In recognition to the support of the local government units in the brigades’ efforts, plaques of appreciation were also given to the local chief executives of the municipalities within the brigade’s area of coverage.

In his speech, Major General Pangilinan urged the personnel of the brigade to always look back from where they have started and to plan for the future and work for certain goals. He also lauded the brigade for successfully upholding peace and security within its given area and for helping the division achieve its mandated task.

Also present in the celebration were the leaders of Central Mindanao, Hon. Bai Sandra S Sema, Congresswoman of the 1st District of Maguindanao and Cotabato City; and Hon. Tucao Mastura, former Mayor of Sultan Kudarat Municipality. In her inspirational message, Congressman Sema expressed gratefulness for the strong and unfaltering support of 6ID in all peace efforts. “The people should realize the importance of the security sector in achieving peace in our communities. The security sector is also partly responsible for the relative peace that paved way for millions of Moros to finish their studies and become professionals” she added.

Persuader Brigade is one of the three brigades of the 6ID which had recently emplaced and established an advance command post in Barangay Pigkalagan, Sultan Kudarat Municipality, Maguindanao.
